Dr. Sneha Roy
Senior Research Advisor
Sneha Roy is an agricultural researcher. She holds Doctoral and MSc degrees in Agricultural Sciences with a focus on effective agricultural extension and advisory systems in small and marginal farms, and a BA degree in in Agricultural science with a specialization in Genetics & Plant Breeding, and Plant Biotechnology from one of the State Agricultural Universities of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya) in India. Previously, she held a Senior Research Fellowship in Innovation in Science Pursuit for the Inspired Research (INSPIRE) program, awarded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. She has been a South-North Visiting Researcher at the Food Security Center, University of Hohenheim, Germany. She also worked as a Research Associate at the Shell Global Solutions International B.V. (Netherlands) & University of Hohenheim, Germany. Her research interests include Agricultural crops, Farmer to Farmer approach, Renewable energy use in small-scale agriculture, Sustainable agriculture, Agricultural extension systems in developing countries, Food security, Participatory and bottom-up approaches in agriculture, Transfer of Technology, Research methods in agricultural extension. She is currently obtaining an MS degree at the Department of Crop Sciences in the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. At EFI, Sneha guides the Research Fellows of Research and Content Development Program in the area of agriculture and conducts research on topics of sustainable agriculture.
