Jolene received a B.S. in Public Health and Environmental Science and Policy from the College of William and Mary. She has worked for Arlington County’s Virginia Cooperative Extension Agricultural Agent where she produced a variety of educational material for topics like integrated pest control for gardeners, composting, dendrology and vertebrae pest management. She has also been a Project Coordinator for Nutrition Action Healthlettter, a nutrition publication, where she conducted market wide research and data collection for a variety of food products as well as drafted pitches, talking points, and charts used to produce articles. She is the incoming 2019 Food and Agricultural Fellow for Friends of the Earth (FOE) and will be working on FOE’s Bee Action campaign which aims to eliminate pollinator-toxic agricultural pesticides. Jolene’s passion for sustainable food systems has brought her to work with EFI as a Research & Content Development Fellow, focusing on sustainability in agriculture and consumption.
