Isanka Wijerathne

Isanka, currently working at Kyoto University as a Researcher at the Center for the Promotion of Excellence in Higher Education, is a full-stack web developer with many years of experience working and consulting as software engineer with eLearning communities for government, nonprofit, and private organizations in Sri Lanka, South Africa, Singapore, Japan, and the United States. Isanka is an active and contributing member of the Open edX community, one of the world’s leading open source online courseware platforms, and he has managed the implementation of the platform at Kyoto University and other organizations. Isanka is the leading developer of EFI’s Open edX platform, supporting EFI’s efforts to provide innovative courses in sustainability for global audiences. Isanka holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka.
