Senior Research Advisor

Cristy Gelling is a science writer and editor. She holds a PhD in Genetics from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Arts in Professional Writing from Carnegie Mellon University. Her science writing has been published in The Washington Post, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Science News, Science News for Students, Bitesize Bio, and Scientific American Blogs. She is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and works as the Communications Director of a scientific scholarly society. At EFI, Cristy supports the Research and Content Development Program as an advisor to the Research Fellows and she conducts research on the intersections of science and sustainability.
