Robert Clarkson
Director of Outreach Programs
As Director of Outreach Programs for EFI, Robert Clarkson is responsible for developing the foundation's partnerships with the higher education and business communities. Mr. Clarkson has co-developed and taught EFI's Sustainable Societies for Business program at Virginia Commonwealth University as well as the Global Sustainable Societies program at the University of Richmond. He managed a team of VCU's MBA students to research and document sustainability opportunities for the foundation. He also managed a marketing research project on the introduction of electric vehicles into the Greater Richmond marketplace for Ford Motor Company.
Before coming to EFI, Mr. Clarkson had 16 years of experience working in program management, product development, marketing and research where he held various leadership roles. He has worked for a diverse range of companies from small emerging market companies to large Fortune 500 companies which sell products and services in the banking, insurance, transportation, healthcare and eCommerce sectors. In total, Mr. Clarkson has managed products generating $1.6 billion in revenue and expense budgets of $3.5 million. He has a special interest in helping disadvantaged children through tutoring and volunteering, including a recent trip to Haiti. Mr. Clarkson has an MBA in Marketing and eCommerce from the University of Maryland, an Adjunct Teaching Certificate from the University of Richmond, and an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in International Business and Finance.
