LeRoy S. Troyer

LeRoy Troyer is founder and former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Troyer Group, a firm that has long designed with the environment in mind through architecture, engineering, urban planning, interior design, landscape architecture, construction management and integrated services. Mr. Troyer has a broad range of passions and a variety of talents which he effectively uses to organize and provide leadership on issues concerning the living standards of people on local, regional national and global scales. With a Mennonite background, he has focused his architectural training on such goals as meeting the basic human need for shelter, the elimination of poverty housing, the advancement of global living standards, and increased awareness of environmental, economic and quality of life challenges.

Mr. Troyer is especially committed to eliminating poverty housing. His work with Habitat for Humanity International and his close working relationship with former President Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter have drawn national and international attention to housing needs in the United States and around the world. A pioneer in the area of Intergenerational Living, he led the planning, design and development of Southfield Village, a neighborhood that serves as a national model for intergenerational living in South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Troyer has provided professional services to clients throughout the US and the world and continues his philanthropic work with organizations that promote peaceful, humanitarian support, encouragement and education in a way that empowers individuals to make a better way and life for themselves and their families.
